Re: NWR: AS ANYONE EVER BEEN TO....
I've been to Rome, Capri, Naples, Lora (sp?), Ravenna, San Marino, and Milan.
Still on my to-do list is Florence, Venice, and Tuscany.
My favorites were Rome, San Marino, and Capri. I also liked Milan, but only really needed 1 day to visit Milan

I loved Italy in general. We went to Pisa, Florence, and Rome. I'm dying to go to Venice and the Amalfi Coast. I LOVED Rome and Florence was great as well!

I've been to Rome, Florence, Venice, Pompeii, and Sorrento. I loved Florence but would go back to any of them! I believe Perillo Tours has some great itinerary.

I've been to Rome and Venice and a day trip to Pompei. Roma was my favorite! Venice was great, but I do not recommend staying more then 2 nights.

We are going to Italy in a few months...my DH lived there during his 20s. His favorite area is the Lake District (Lake Como).
I've never been to lake Como, and unfortunately, this trip we won't be there, but maybe the next one.
You can start North: Fly into Milan, stay there overnight...then travel up to the Lake District for three-four nights...then back down, to Venice, to Florence, to Rome, to Amalfi. Of course, you can do many day trips from each of these locations ie. Capri, Positano, Pompeii, Murano. etc.
