NWR: ASAP HELP!!!

Ok ladies..totally non wedding related lol but it does involve a wedding gift...our pots. Our brand spankin new holy moly expensive all-clad pots...

>< WHich I BURNED last night in a VERY failed experiment involving LOTS of cheese... So the pot is not burned per day but the cheese is in a thick layer that refuses to budge. The suckers been soaking since last night and gave me the finegr this morning because only some came off. I have started scraping but not sure if it will kill ym pan. Fortunately it is stainless steel. I MUST get this cheese OFF before dh comes home or I will never hear the end of it!

Does anyone have a good cleaning solution or remedy for removing stubborn glued on gunk from the inside of stainless steel pans?

TIA ladies. SAVE me an ear lashing!

Put a little soapy water on it and let it simmer ont he stove for 15 minutes. Let it cool down and then scrape it. It should come off with no problem. I've used it before!

I don't have stainless steel, but I googled how to get burned food off of them and this came up:

? Burnt food is stuck in pan... Cover the stuck foodstuffs with warm soapy water, allow to soak for some time, then boil for 10 minutes, allow it to cool, then use a soft cloth, or a nylon scourer if stubborn, and warm, soapy water.

To clean baked-on foods from a cooking pot/pan. Put a dryer sheet in a pot/pan, fill with water, let sit overnight, and sponge clean. The anti-static agent apparently weakens the bond between the food and the pan.

If you want to try an experiment here goes:

Normally I soak using Dawn liquid detergent and it works. But obviously you have already tried soaking.

Have you every tried the cleaning product Miracle Foam? It's not for pots and pans but it works on every ground on mess that I get ( I have 2 dogs home alone all day you would be horrified at some of things I find when I get home).

The only place I've ever seen it sold is at Linens & Things and BBB.

Good luck!

My best remedy :
Fill the pan halfway with warm water, add baking soda to cover the bottom (it will start to bubble up) then heat to boiling. Let the water boil for a while and you should see bits of the burnt cheese start to come up.
Repeat as necessary.
When the pot is clean, put a little white vinegar in the bottom, heat that for 5 minutes, let cool a little and then rinse with water.
The vinegar helps get rid of any residue or grease and will make the pan sparkle.

if you need to scrape a little, use a nonstick spatula so you don't scratch the pot.

I swear by baking soda. I use it for cleaning too.

Re: NWR: ASAP HELP!!!

After you get the burnt stuff off you may want to try this from Martha Stewart.

Conventional wisdom holds that pots and pans should be given a good soak. But every metal has different properties and requires special care. Stainless steel is prone to stains from heat and hard water. To remove them, apply white vinegar with a soft cloth and rub. Always dry thoroughly after washing to prevent a film from forming. Never soak stainless steel cookware; this will result in pitted surfaces.
