Has anyone taken them? Are they difficult? Any advice, suggestions?? TIA

I took the LAST...it seem sto be basic knowledge, but I know many people that had trouble with all of the teachers exams...thank got I passed the LAST...I still have more to take. though, so we will see
there is a barrons practice book...take a sample test to see how u do HTH

I just took the LAST a couple of weekends ago... and I have to say it was harder than a lot of people let on. MANY People told me'no need to study it's cake'... well it's not rocket science but its not CAKE. It's very long and tedious. There are a lot of reading passages and art questions. A handful of Math and History. Then it ends with an essay. I feel fairly confident I passed but definately not a 'sure thing' by any means. I would get the barrons study guide before you take the exam.

They're both exhausting tests to take (well actually the LAST was exhausting, I felt the ATS-W was a piece of cake), but definitely passable. No need to stress over them at all!!! It's just really long and exhausting. Just get those study guides and you'll be fine!

How long is the test? Also, do you think its a good idea to take both test in one day? Or to spread them out?

4 Hours Long... I personally was veryyy antsy by the end of the LAST and couldn't imagine taking one right after. But my friend took the LAST the same day as me and then went and took the ATS-w and said it was much easier and felt it flew by. So I guess it's up to you... either a 4 hour day or an 8 hour day.

I took the LAST- I wouldn't say it is impossible but it is hard and very tedious. I did pass, but I didn't feel comfortable after the test at all. I should have practiced.
The ATS-W, everyone told me was a piece of cake and not to waste money studying for it. I didn't think it was, but I did finish in 2 1/2 hours. Some of the questions were ridiculous though--ambigous.
Good luck........I'm sure you'll be fine...I find out if I passed the ATS-W on 3/26.
I WOULD NOT TAKE BOTH THE SAME DAY!

just fyi, the barron's book is on google books. just search it and it comes up with a little book itcon next to it. the whole book is on there (no need to buy it really).

i think you can definitely take them both in the same day. i did and i was glad to get them out of the way. you'll be fine. good luck!

fh and i took both without even taking an education course!! its not a bad test!! dont rush get a good nights rest and register early! Youll be fine!!!
