there will be delays of 15-30 minutes and some cancellations during this evenings rush hour commute due to a broken rail in the AMTRAK tunnel

The LIRR always seemed like a PITA until...
I took an AMTRAK train to VA last week the train was almost an hour late getting into VA. Then on the way back to NY the train pickes us up an hour late at the VA station and arrived 2 hours late at PENN all because of slow freight trains. Why don't they account for that kind of stuff! Oh, and there was a toxic chemical spill.... Now I am grateful for the less deadly LIRR...

The following trains are canceled:



The 4:43 PM train from Penn Station due in Port Washington at 5:21 PM is cancelled, customers will be accommodated by the 4:46 PM out of Penn Station due in Great Neck at 5:23 PM, which will be extended to Port Washington.



The 4:57 PM train from Penn Station due in Wantagh at 5:42 PM is cancelled, customers will be accommodated by the 5:03 PM from Penn Station due in Freeport at 5:46 PM, which will be extended to Wantagh.



The 5:20 PM train from Penn Station due in Long Beach at 6:11 PM is cancelled, customers will be accommodated by the 5:24 PM from Penn Station due in Long Beach at 6:18 PM.



Tthe 5:19 PM train from Penn Station due in Wantagh at 6:06 PM is cancelled, customers will be accommodated by the 5:27 PM from Penn Station due in Freeport at 6:10 PM, which will be extended to Wantagh.

thanks for the update. RIght now looks like I will be trying to take the early train home so I make it on time for our appt. Such a PAIN!
