NWR: baby gift

My friend is 5 months pregnant. I bought her a really cute baby outfit. Can I give her a gift before she has the baby?

I know at baby showers its before baby is born so I guess its the same thing right?

sure..who does not like a surprise..my sis is pregnant now and i have been giving her gifts all the time...lol i actually need to stop lol

Sure why not?

I think one of the cutest gifts (if you want to give to her beforehand) is a little diaper cake. I've made about 3 so far and they've been real hits.

I don't know how common this is, but I understand that some Jewish women do not want to receive gifts before the baby is born because it is supposed to be bad luck. That's why most Jewish people don't name the baby before he/she is born.

But if she's having a shower or already is receiving gifts / painting the nursery, etc, then I'm sure giving a present in advance would be great!

Absolutely! The day that I found out my bff was pregnant with my godson I bought her a Coach Diaper Bag and gave it to her that weekend! You can absolutely give gifts before the baby is born.
