NWR: Baby Shower Help

NWR: Baby Shower Help

Hi! My MOH just officially announced her pregnancy & my friend & I would like to throw her a baby shower to celebrate! The problem is that no one else can contribute & we're both really stretched thin this year (my wedding + a new house each). Can any one recommend a decent restaurant in Suffolk that has lunch/brunch buffet menu for about $12 per person & that can accomodate about 30 people? Unfortunately neither of our houses is big enough for a party that size & neither of us can really afford to spend any more than that So far our only option appears to be a Chinese Buffet restaurant ($11pp), but I know that a lot of people don't like Chinese food, so I'm hesitant to go that route...

Any help/ideas/suggestions would be MUCH appreciated!! TIA!

Sergios really???? My MOH is pregnant too and I'm the godmommy and throwing the shower. I was looking into Smithtown Grill but Sergios is good too.

Wow thats a toughy!!! Try popeyes in Sayville. We enjoy it there and they are very reasonable. Good luck. My girlfriend actually had her babyshower at a chinese buffet place, a nice one with a seperate room and we really enjoyed it. It was fun. Depending on what time of year it is, maybe you can go to a picnic area at hecksher park, they have canopies in certain areas.

I dont know how many people you are planning, but if you are expecting more than 30 or so you might want to also concider renting a hall for a couple hundred bucks and they will supply the place, tables, and chairs. You could ask everyone to prepare their favorite dish or have a local restaurant make a few different things
We did that for a friend of ours that was returning from Iraq.

These are really inexpensive halls
Neighborhood House-Setauket
Polish/American Independent Club- Port Jeff
Knights of Columbus hall

Thanks! Those are some great ideas...we're actually by the Deer Park Popeye's, so I'm going to give them a call first thing tomorrow

That is another GREAT idea! Thank you!! That never even occured to either of us. There's a nice American Legion nearby...we could probably keep our expenses pretty low if we go there & ask everyone to bring something. Then we can save our $$ for some nice gifts for her!! Thanks!

I third the Sergios idea. We had our e-party. It was awesome. They have a private room, great food, great price. It's not too far from Suffolk. It's at the east end of Massapequa about a mile from the Suffolk border. Goof Luck!

Thanks ladies! I wish that we could do Sergios (we're actually having our RD there), but it's a little too much $ per person for just the 2 of us to swing Unfortunately we need something that's $14 or less pp...no one in her family can afford to help at all, so we're stuck with a super low budget

Isn't it weird how some years nothing happens & others you have 3 weddings, 2 babies, 1 engagement and on & on & on? lol
