Hey everyone. So how many of you use Bare Minerals? I went and had a 'consultation' yesterday and while everyone RAVES about this makeup. I felt I looked powdery and it totally ENHANCED any fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes. Has anyone else found this happens to them? I have heard from others who use it that when they do the entire thing - foundation twice, mineal veil, warmth and if you need any conceling that all that powder totally settles into ANY lines you may have making them appear worse! What have you found? I did buy the kit but am seriously thinking of returning it. Thoughts?

I have a license in hair and make up and I hate it. I could never apply it 'just right' and it was a total waste of my money.
I have combo skin, and no matter what kind of moisturizer I use I still have it somewhat after wearing make up for 12 hours.
Seriously, I would return it. It will sit in your make up blunder drawer unused!

i use it just about everyday. i really like it. but i've learned not to use all of the powders b/c it does make your face look a little cakey. you have to play around and find which ones look better on you. i only use 1 or 2 each day. Usually the foundation and one of the face colors to add a little color to my face. HTH!

This is great information, I've never used it but was thinking of heading over to sephora to get it. I have combo skin too so if it's not going to work right I don't think I'll bother. Thanks

I love bare minerals. I have an addiction, as to where I have to go in the store and buy something everytime I'm there! Too me, I think it looks flawless. Maybe the person who did your makeup piled it on.

i got it October 06 & was crazy about it but then one time i saw how bad it looked so i dont use it - its just sitting under my sink waste of $90

I bareminerals! I think whoever did yours probably put too much on... I use the base that they have (its like a foundation holding cream) and all the powders and I feel like it holds all day, feels light and looks polished.... but if you didnt like it, I would go and ask someone else to help you- they showed me at the sephora in manhasset- otherwise return it if you wont use it

Yeah, I love it too. I had a makeup trial last week with liquid foundation and that, to me, looked sooooo cakey. I think I am wearing BM on my wedding day. When I first got it, I didn't like it. It didn't look like enough coverage to me. Now, I use neutrogena tinted moist. underneath it and i love it. I do not use the mineral veil, ran out and never got another -- i may try it again. I buy it on ebay though, cheaper. I think it has totally made my skin super soft and beautiful!!!!

I love it and hate it. Its a silly relationship,
I think overall it looks good, but when trying to conceal some dark circles under my eyes it tends to make any fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes more visible.

Yes, I do agree with that. I have the bisque and I do use it, but I have very dark blue pigmentation under my eyes and it really only take the edge off. I have yet to find something that takes it away.

I love bare minerals....I find that it coers looking very natural, I did not buy the combo set...I just bought the colors that I thought would work best on me

i like it. it took a little while to figure out how to use it though (and how much/how little). i only apply the foundation powder and the mineral veil.

I have a bad addiction to bare essentials...Even the eye shadows are really great. You really have to find the right blend of all the consealer/warmth and veil. I find that it does sometimes define my eye wrinkles though. But, I haven't had any pimples since I have been using it. It might not be right for you..I would return it because it's not cheap.

I LOVE bare minerals - it's the best makeup I've ever used. However, I do not use all those products you described. I just use the foundation - no mineral veil, no base, none of the 'warmth' stuff. The foundation is enough!

Hey!
The first time I used it I absolutely hated it!
I thought it definitely enhanced acne, lines, etc.
But I think that was because I was used to applying makeup really heavily, really layering it on to make it stick.
You really only need just a little bit, even to cover up bad problems.
Also, moisturizer before. It helps give you a bit of a glow underneath and I think it helps to give the minerals something to 'stick' to.
Give it a few times. I HATED it the first time and now and in loooove for the past 3 years....

i have it and sometimes depending on the humidity and my skin that day i love it or i hate it , i have actually used the mineral veil over liquid foundation and found that works alot better , i have alot of color in my face and i when i use the warmth it makes it worse... but the mineral veil does get rid of any shine and it does last..so it's really a toss up depending on the day
