At the end of the second week in each month of my BCP (which ive been on for like 6 mos or so), like clockwork, I get REALLY moody, hungry, bloated/retain water, achey, etc. And sometimes spot (sorry TMI). Does anyone else have any issues like this? Its very weird. I know this can't be it, but it makes me think that bc Loestrin is low dose, this is my old natural cycle kind of peaking through and my BC isn't strong enough. That is probably a really dumb thing to think, and I doubt its possible, but I can't figure out what the deal is.

i was on Loestrin....i dont recall any side effects. But I know BCP period can give all the symptoms that you are saying....maybe ask your Dr to change to a diff pill?

yeah, i know everyone has a diff exper, even w/ the same pill. i had some pretty bad side effects during the first three months and those all faded away after and now its just this MYSTERIOUS week 2 issue
If it keeps happening, Ill inquire w/ obgyn. I mean its nothing SO horrible, its just weird and a bit of annoyance. My tummy gets so bloated and the hormones are a ragin. Was just curious about if anyone else had a similar experience. Unfort I think I may be alone in this boat!

I had a lot of side effects on Loestrin like the ones you mentioned, I spotted a lot too & I was a MAJOR Biatch. My side effects also included a really low libido. Poor FH. I'm on Yaz now... I get a headache once in awhile and feel a little icky at night occasionally, but that's about it. It's been much better for me than Loestrin. And the libido is back. FH is happy again.

Yep, had same issues you mentioned. Including low libido, esp first 3 mos. and totally drops during second wk too. very weird.
My sister is on Yaz and is having a bunch of other side effects so Im like, do I really want to switch and weather those first 3 crappy mos again w/ another kind??'

it's so funny that this is being posted today, because i had to switch off of Loestrin yesterday because i just stopped getting my period, which obviously freaked me out. my doctor told me to start Yasmin immediately----to just punch out all the days from the pack that i had already and start in the middle of the pack. Loestrin is too low of a dose for me.

I had those symptoms minus the spotting and add headaches also a period that would never really flow so I switched from that brand.

I have alot of problems with Loestrin: spottiness, weird period, low libido. I want to change but it's just starting to become regular and I don't want to start anything new before the wedding.

I've been on loestrin24 for the last 6-7 months. I have a few side effects like PMS issues near my period and low libido (always a problem for me on every hormonal bc ever invented). It *****. I'm hoping I can get of BCP a few months after the wedding.
