This may be a TMI question, but I just recently started taking BC pills…. This is my second month on them, and during week 2, I forgot to take a pill. I doubled up and for the past few days I have been cramping and spotting. I almost feel like I have my period, which stinks b/c in two weeks I really will have my period.
Has this happened to anyone b/4. I thought going on BC would make things easier, but in all actuality it is harder!!

Re: NWR: BC question
doubling up is always hard. it has different effects on everyone - for me i'd get REALLY nauseous.
if it's really bad call your dr, but I think it's pretty normal. feel better.

I have been struggling with missing my period...then getting it randomly when I wasnt supposed to.....tender breasts......weight gain...the list goes on! Just stick it out. I am on my 4th or 5th month and really trying to rough out the side effects.

Re: NWR: BC question
Doubling up can def. cause something like this...doubling up was a nightmare for me, without fail i would get really ill if I ever had to double up i would end up sleeping on the bathroom floor that is how sick I would get! It def. has a different effect on people though. When i first started BC i had to try 3 different ones because of the spotting issue, talk to your dr. about it.

I get REALLY nausious (sp?) when I double up... I think this is just your way of your body saying WHOAAA! lol This is completely normal though. Give yourself like 3-4 months to get used to the pill. If it keeps happenind, I'd have your doctor switch the pill for you. Which pill are you on??

Re: NWR: BC question
every pill is different, you have to keep the insert info packet to see what to do when you miss a pill, for example with mine if i miss 1 i just take it when i remember, even if that means 2 pills at the same time, if its during week 1 no worries, but week 2 or 3 they recommend back up method for a week to be safe, but you dont really 'double up'
always call your dr or pharmacist for more info.....

I have been taking bc pills for years and it is normal. It takes time for your body to adjust to them. For example, I just switched type of bc pill I take and it was like starting over again. You can always call your Dr. but do not worry.

Yes, it's definitely a hormonal overload. I've never heard of that pill. If you keep having issues with it, maybe try Yaz. I have PCOS so I've been on BC for yearssss and have tried several types. Yaz has been, by far, the best for me...

When you forget to take a pill one day and then take two the next day to make up for it.
