My doctor gave me a prescription for Desogen yesterday. I have never been on birth control before and she said this one would be the easiest to allow me to manipulate the day of my period. She said to start taking two packs in a row, skipping the 'period pills' in the first pack. I read some bad things about this pill online? A few good? Anyone have any experiences with this? Anyone have any advice? This whole thing makes me nervous!
I think all pills have negative side effects, it is quite common. You have to see how it effects your system. If you are good on it, then you can stick with it. If not, then it is easy to swap out to another kind of pill. I have been on a few, some worked well for me without major side effects, others are worse. It all depends on your body chemistry and how it interacts with the horomones.
Desogen is one of the older BC pills, but it's similar to all of the others. You have to take it and see how it affects you. Some people have to try different ones until they find the right one.
