If you are on the pill and you are spotting say like a week or so before your scheduled time, is the pill not strong enough?

I was thinking that too...I guess your body can build an immunity to the amount of estrogen? No, I didn't miss any dosages. If there is one thing I know for certain it's that I do not want kids so I'm diligent with taking that. Ugh! Why does my doc's office need to close early on fridays?!

This happens to me sometimes if I haven't been taking the pill at the same time every day. (8am one day, 10am another day, etc.). But if I take it within about a half-hour frame, it doesn't happen. I'd check with your gyno if it happens again.

Re: NWR: BC/girly problem question
when did you start taking the pill? bc this is pretty normal if youre still in the first three pill packs (this happened to me through mth 1 and 2. i just finished my third month and no breakthrough this month). after then, your body should be acclimated (sp?) and the spotting should stop. So dont be too concerned if youre still in your first three months. Otherwise, yea you might want to talk to your obgyn about possibly changing to a higher dose. Other reasons, which have already been mentioned, would be missed pills, not taking at same time each day, or pregnancy but from what you described it doesnt sound like that would be it. GL!

Re: NWR: BC/girly problem question
i used to be on a tri-phase hormone pill (tri-phasil/tri-levlin) and i never had this. about a year ago i switched to a same dose pill (phem-con) and now i spot every month about a week before. my doc says its normal for me. its still not ideal but its better than being bloated for 3 weeks out of the 4 week cycle like i was on the tri-pill.
also with the newer pill although there is spotting . is realllly short and light so its almost worth the tradeoff.

Not strong enough you may need a higher dose of estrogen
