Maybe fill the hole with wood filler? You can probably get something at home depot.

here are a few tips i found online

Find the exact spot and spray spectracide or other insect killing poison at night. Keep silent at the time of spraying. Also wear tight protective clothes so that the bees do not bite you.

Remove all containers like buckets that attract the bees.

Burning wood or paper underneath the beehive to create smoke, especially at night is another way of shooing away bees without killing them.

Hang a few mothballs in a socks or pantyhose in your yard as it repels bees.

I know WD-40 kills Carpenter bees. It can't hurt to try.

I would just spray that into the hole - it has the little nozzle thing that will shoot right in it.

Obviously do it at dusk - when they're in the nest.

Hi,

We just had the same problem and went to Home Depot and found this spray stuff that comes in an aerosol can but it is actually a foam that shoots up to 20ft away. We used one can to kill one huge nest and 3 little honeycomb next thingies. HTH!
