So I know this is a personal question but are there any of you girls that dob't use oral contraceptives but stick with the good old condom? I am considering going off of my birth control pills. I am having some crazy weight gain and bloat and I just don't like the way I feel. I am afraid though...any thoughts? If youd rather FM me, I udnerstand and would GREATLY appreciate it!

Been using the good ol' party hat for twelve years.
My sister's ob/gyn told her there's still a 5% chance of getting pregnant. But FH and me have never had a problem or scare in all this time.

Re: NWR: Birth Control Related...
I was so against the pill and we stuck to condoms.....but there were some scares (I finally just got my period) but that stress was too much for us so I have been on the pill since I was 20.... we don't want kids at all so we wanted something that will totally put that factor out of our lives.....
I do have to say that it took a lot of trying other pills before I found one that worked right for me....on some I had no sex drive....others I bloated....others I had killers cramps and was a raging hormone case .....so it really does take some time before you find the pill that works for you. I don't want to be on the pill forever so we decided that when we are in our mid 30's and we still don't want kids FH is getting 'fixed.' That way I don't have to keep taking them my whole life which isn't healthy as you get older.

Yeah i totally understand the 'scare' thing...thats my fear. I was on ortho lo for a few years ad had great success but I started spotting so they changed me to loestrin...and I HATE It...ive never felt more bloated and awful aboutm yself! Argh!

That happened to me too!!! I started on Ortho tri cyclen...did great with it, then I hit 24ish and started spotting...I was getting my period every other week....so needless to say that is when the hunt for the right pill started. I ended up on estro step and couldn't be happier...I feel like me and my periods are so easy.
How old are you?? My doc said that our bodies go through changes in the mid 20s and that could cause irregularity even on the pill....I know that when I was dealing with all of that my face broke out so bad so I really do think my body was just changing.... talk to your doc and tell them you don't feel like this the right pill for you. Keep trying other ones until you find the one that feels right. Usually when you spot it is because you don't have enough hormones and when you don't get it all it is because you have too much....or something like that.

It will!!! It gets better...I am going to be 28 in Feb. and my face has not looked better and my period is under control. I think it took a few months for me to get everything under control when I was going haywire so hang in there....drink plenty of water, try to get some good facials, and keep trying BC until you find one that is good for you!!!

DO NOT USE THE PATCH....i used it for a while..it was TERRIBLE...and the side effects are magnified on it...definitely go with a pill...trust me!

im on the pill...if youve been having trouble with it, ask your gyno and maybe he/she could prescribe another type...ive been on it for abt. 5 years, but have had to switch a few times.
