FH's birthday is coming up. Of course I have no idea what to get him and I have to work a ton this week. I also have to be able to bring it on a plane, so nothing too big. I know its hard to suggest appropriate gifts for someone you haven't met but ANY suggestions would be appreciated, i.e., what you got your FHs for Christmas.....

Ipod- as mentioned- is a good idea too aong with itunes gift card
what is he into? Does he work on cars? ie. change tires, breaks etc?
FH does and i bought him an air compressor and its the best gift he has ever gotten. He loves it.

long wool coat - one that he can wear with a suit... there are some on sale right now at Kohl's (Chaps Ralph Lauren) - $110...
different watches: blue dial watch (Bulova has nice ones)... or black watch - black dial, black band (Fossil has nice ones)... or sports watch (Casio)...

i think those are some pretty standard good guy gifts, though. Is he into sports? poker? ipod would work as well.

You guys rock - thanks for all your suggestions!!! Esp the poker chips, cuff links and leather jacket and of course the whiskey....b/c he has an ipod & digital camera and unbelievably an air compressor that I got him last year.....I have a working list now.
Beginning to feel a little stupid that I couldn't think even think of ONE OF THESE ITEMS myself......LOL!!!!

nope I got it for FH a few years ago and he says its the best thing he has ever gotten, it makes his life so much easier!

my fh's bday is coming up and i'm getting him the I TV. It is a wireless adaptor that transmit videos & movies from your Ipod to the tv.
