my friend and moh had never had a manicure and pedicure so i got it for her...her bday was right after she got engaged and i figured she could use it more then...some nice nails when showing off her ring... she loved it !

I can tell you one of the best presents I have ever received from a girlfriend was tickets to see Alejandro Sanz at Radio City. I love him and I will never forget it.
as far as given, it's tough to say...I think it was a funky Kenneth Cole watch I gave her...for days she showed it to everyone
