NWR: Blackberry vs iPhone

Original post by kedra5

So I currently have a Blackberry and love it...but my contract is up soon and I really want a touchscreen phone. AT&T doesn't have a touchscreen Blackberry so I was thinking one of two things: Either I switch to Verizon and get the BB storm or I stick with AT&T and get the iPhone!!

SO i need your help.....which is better??!?!?!

TIA!!!!

I am all for the Iphone!!! But think of this, the price of the IpHone just dropped to 100 bucks at Walmart which means a newer version is probably coming out really soon. I say wait.

yep, coming out in june I think.

Re: NWR: Blackberry vs iPhone

So I am with AT&T. I had the BBERRY curve 8310 when it first came out with the sleeker model about 2.5 years ago. I kept that phone for the whole 2 years that I had my contract without a single problem.

The pros- for that phone - BBM and brickbreaker (for you BBERRY users you know it's addictive) it's a sleek and smallish phone (for a phone of its type) and it didn't break on me at all during the two years.
The cons- the screen is kind of small and trying to do things on the internet (3G) takes FOREVER!

When my contract was up right before Valentine's Day the FH bought me an iPhone which he knew I had been wanting and also it was about the time when my iPod was going so I'd need a new one of those soon so he bought me the 32GB 3GS.

the pros- ITS AMAZING! Really fast load times (if you're in an area with good reception) and it holds all of my music (4,000 + songs) which adds up to a little over 18 GB plus videos that I have and the most important things are my Bejeweled app and the Knot apps which are all free in the app store btw.

the cons- when you are in an area with poor reception it will take an eternity to load a webpage but I suppose that's an AT&T problem and not really a problem with the iPhone. battery lasts about 1 full day, I was spoiled with my BBERRY that lasted like 3-4 days on one charge!

Also when you start adding up all the little extra you have to get for the phone you end up paying more for the accessories than for the phone itself, for example AT&T had a promotion going when I got the iPhone that if you bought 4 or 5 accessories (don't remember) you got a percentage off all of them. So I bought a case that is not the prettiest but will protect my phone ~ $30 (I'm accident prone!) I bought the applecare protection plan which was ~$70 but when you buy insurance for your phone through AT&T its $5 a month and if you figure over the course of two years its actually cheaper to just get the plan, a three pack of screen protectors for obvious reasons that was ~$5, the car charger which is about ~$20.

But even with all that I still prefer my iPhone. I guess for any phone you buy you are going to pay a lot for the accessories.

But I've had my phone for about 3.5 months now and I LOVE IT!!!

Oh and the final pro is that you can bring it to any Apple store and they'll fix it unlike AT&T where you have to mail your phone to them and then they might tell you it's your fault and blah blah blah. My friend spilled milk on her iPhone (not very smart) but she cleaned it off and blowdried it, brought it into an apple store and they fixed it without question.
