NWR - Book Review 'Almost Moon'

Almost Moon
by Alice Sebold

I am not sure what I think of this book yet.

It is a story of a tormented childhood, through adulthood and what keeps families together as well as tears them apart. It tells the story of a middle age woman who is coming to grip with her mothers death, of which she helped.

I have read Lucky and Lovely Bones, also A. Sebold and deffinatly liked those better.

Its very strange, but I do keep reading it, so I must enjoy it one some level.

I liked the other A.S. books...

This title reminded me of 'Goodnight Moon' , one of my favorite kids books

I'm reading The Lovely Bones right now and having a really hard time with it (not because it's bad, I'm just emotional over the poor girls situation). Lucky I couldn't get passed the first 5 pages... too graphic and detailed and icky... I felt icky.

I think my sister read Almost Moon and really enjoyed it. I think with A.S. it's hard to get passed her really descriptive style... she's very wordy!

yea i was like that too with it- it took me over a week to read it (I was on vacation- so thats long)- I kept waiting for it to get better & it never did- it was just depressing. I didnt feel like lovely bones was depressing- that book felt more hopeful. idk

I've read Lovely Bones and I have Lucky at home but I haven't gotten to it yet.

Yea, I haven't heard great things about this one
