Now that I have a month and a half off from school, I finally have some time to read. Anyone have any good book suggestions?( I pretty much like everything but cheesy romance novels) TIA

I loved The Kite Runner and Angels and Demons. If you haven't read them, definitely put it on your list.

If you like sci-fi comedy, I recommend Christopher Moore. I love all his books, except one, he's usually in the fiction section (not sci-fi).

Re: NWR- Books
Oryx & Crake -- Margaret Atwood Handmaid's Tale -- Margaret Atwood The Stand -- Stephen King Pillars of the Earth -- Ken Follet Friday Night Knitting Club -- Kate Jacobs A Dangerous Fortune -- Ken Follet Catch 22 -- Heller Childhood's End -- Clarke Alice & Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass -- Carroll (I laughed the whole time I read this...it's a very grown up and funny book) In the Country of Last things -- Paul Aster In Cold Blood -- Capote (I just recently read this...it was very good) The Adventures of Huck Finn -- Mark Twain (yeah...literature, but it's really funny when you read it as an adult)
These are all the ones I can think of off the top of my head that I love. The Pillars of the Earth is the BEST BOOK in the history of the world. The Stand is the second best book in the history of the world!!!

I just read Comfort Food by Kate Jacobs and it was awesome. She also wrote Friday Night Knitting Club and Knit Too...Both excellent books.
I also highly recommend the Twilight Series. I couldnt put the books down.
I also love Pat Conway books...The Great Santini was my favorite

Read A Confederacy of Dunces. I can't remember who wrote it, but it's a satire of basically EVERYTHING. So funny.

Definitely The Kite Runner, and then his second book A Thousand Splendid Suns
Water for Elephants was also very good.
The Twlight series is good for a quick beach read.
