NWR- Boston MA. and Mt. Desert Island, Maine

FH and I are going away Memorial Day weekend for a short (but oh so necessary) vacation. We are seeing U2 in Boston , spending two days there, then driving up the coast to Maine for a few days. I found a really nice B & B for $99 for a room with a 2 person jacuzzi and fire place....

only problem is, my boss says Maine is HORRIBLE. he hates it...now I am afraid we will go and hate it and it's our only vacation til the wedding....this NEEDS to be money well spent.

Please tell me you girls have had a nice experience....please please please

My FH travels to Maine for business. He hasn't been to that place, but he really likes Maine in general. A vacation will be what you make of it.

I have a house in Maine...It is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! One thing I can tell you though about Memorial Day weekend, STAY AWAY!!!
May-June is black fly season...you literally have to walk around covered from head to toe in bug spray & even that sometimes doesn't help...We use to go up Memorial day weekend but have stopped bc you spend the entire weekend indoors...If it a windy day, you will be ok, but you can not bank on the wind...Plus the black flies bite & leave nasty bites..

Unfortunately I will be venturing up there this Memorial day weekend bc my brother is graduating from the Police Academy!!! If you want any info on Maine, FM me...My family has had a house there for 50 plus years!
