NWR: Brazilian Wax Rave

Okay maybe tmi but I hope this helps someone!
I see a lot of people ask about brazilians who have never done it before. I've been doing it for years in Brooklyn and moved to LI last year (but still drove to Brooklyn). I got tireed of the trip so I found a place out here.

I went to Sonia's Waxing Plus is E. Northport (but they have sites in Roslyn and NYC) anyway Bia was totally AWESOME!!! It barely hurt - they use a wax imported from Brazil that literally peeled off (instead of the blue wax that a lot of spas use). If you are a newbie or need a new place check them out!

awesome!!! where is there site in NYC? I need to get back into the habit of waxing..

In Brooklyn I went to 'The Green Spa' on 88th and 3rd (http://www.greenspany.com). Hasna was quick and got everything. Its a great spa in general. They have 'spa week' twice a year and you get some services discounted.

I want to get one done for the wedding but I've never done it before...I think I want to do a test run..how much is it there?

It was awful!!! I consider myself to be pretty tough...I didn't cry but after the first pull I contemplated ending it...

really?? i didnt feel it was soo painful the first time.. and i did it with regular wax..

I'm not sure why it was sooo painful, it could have been because I'm a red head... the first pull was the worst and then it got a little better...I just haven't gotten over it yet so I think I will stick with shaving from now on. If you liked it the 1st time then you should go back!

It doesn't hurt nearly as bad as the regular waxing, because they don't use paper strips but rather a green wax that hardens. They are able to take off more areas at once. They do all types of waxing.

Its in NYC, but worth the trip!!!!!!

I want to do this also, but am soooo afraid of the pain. I suck at pain, I have no threshold!!! The places that you gals are saying are not painful, is that really true??? lol

awesome! I'll check them out sometime. I'm a big BABY when it comes to pain
