NWR - Bummer

I've done Graphic Design for years but in the last few years started to market my photography doing outdoor art shows out by me and selling items with my photography on them...a gallery opened in town several months back & i got some of my work in it...been doing well each month there...now the owner told me it'll be closing after the holidays... i know there are other oppportunities out there, but it's just frustrating...especially since FH is still unemployed...thinking I should go back to graphic design full-time to make some $$$...grrrr..sorry about the whining...haha

UGH! THAT S*CKS!!! I also am a full time graphic designer, I say you get back into it, its a fun job!!!

I ALSO work part time at an art gallery if you can believe it or not but unfortunatly we don't sell that kind of art.. We only deal with a few different published artists out there... I wouldve totally taken your work otherwise!!!! Unfortunatly I cant get ya in

But go back to designing! Its SO hard to get into this field, if you have the opportunity, JUMP on it!!!!!

Thats stinks! why are they closing?

From what I hear Graphic Design is booming right now. FOr the money i would definitely get back into it and do your art on the side. SOoner or later your hard work will pay off-it just takes time to get to where you want to be.

unfortunately I am like a dinosaur in the field of graphic design...when i graduated college in 1995...yes, back in the 90's..haha...we didn't learn web stuff...just basic printing skills...i took some web classes years ago...and have done some basic work in Dreamweaver creating my own site...i just feel like an obsolete model! haha..you young kids know it all...hehe (i'm 33...)...many jobs I've looked at require all this freakin' web stuff!

Im a graphic designer myself ... and lets just say that I graduated college at the wrong time. I graduated in May of 2003, and didnt get a graphic design job until May of 2004. ONE whole yr of searching, searching and searching - and no phone calls either - it was when the market was at its lowest.

Anyways - to make a long story short - I now work in the Financial Industry - as a graphic designer .. and I dont do anything web related.

There are graphic designer jobs that do NOT require you to have web experience.
