NWR: but have to vent

So about 3 weeks ago FH adn i planned a 'Lobster Fest' with a few other couples..we were all gonan buy lobsters and get wine and make a night of it..
well tonight is the night
*1 couple (my BF) made other plans last minute and forgot
*another just ate pizza.....wasnt feeling the lobster tonight
*another said his DW was afraid to kill the lobster so is protesting it and is bringing salmon

everytime we plan a dinner with a bunch of people...they all become unreliable

i went out and bought lobster plates, and crackers and cute bibs for everyone and we got all this food....and we get a phone call between this afternoon and well NOW when they are on their way that all this is going down
so now me and FH get to looks like the pigs chowing down on lobster while everyone ele sits there, eats a burger, or a slice of salmon

just upsets me that i put so much effort into things
*sigh*

I was dying to finally begin hosting parties when we got an apt but noone ever wants to come.

well, it all went fine...and of course everyone wanted some of our lobsters..which i dont care because i ate MAYBE half....but we did have a good time.....but of course once again ONLY fh friends showed up.....my friends just always bail.......i get scared thinking what will they do at wedding time
