have you tried to see a dermatologist? they can probably recommend some good stuff..also try lotion everyday (if you don't already) after you shower...

there is special body lotion for people with excema. I have it too but in very bizarre places. I'll try to find the name of the lotion I'm talking about. Has your dermatologist prescribed you any type of prescription medication?

as far as it being dry in the house... if the heat is on, opening the windows is just going to make the heat stay on or work harder.
a good way to add moisture to your house is to either buy a cheap humidophier... (i tried spelling it like 6 diff ways and all were wrong lol) OR you can put a pot of water either on your stove, or if you have large heaters like the ones i have you can put the hot water on there so that when it heats up it puts the moisture into the air.

I have excema on my hands - not bad though..
I think aquaphor is the best - but it's like vaseline so I wouldn't put it on in the morning...
My derm gave me a script too - I forget what it was for but it was great... let me see if i can google it.

Aquaphor is awesome! I have excema on my elbows (weird I know) and at night I puton Aquaphor wrap lightly in gauze and put a cut up cotton sock over my elows. Works really well. I won't itch for like at least the first 4 hours of the day!

Oatmeal bath is made by aveeno (AAAAHHH Aveeno) it comes in packets and you soak in it while in the tub. It stops itch, people with chicken pox and other 'itchy' things swear by it. My son inherited it from his dad and when he was younger I would give him one like once a week.

Re: NWR... but kinda personal...?
i used to get really bad eczema on my feet, yes my feet. that was the only place i had it, and it was BAD. after two years of dealing with scabbed up feet, i finally went to the dermo, and he gave me this tape stuff, that you put over the bad areas, and within ONE DAY it was cleared up. i fretted over seeing the dermo, but it was the best thing i did. i don't know what your situation is, but if you can make it to the dermo, go. i suffered so bad, all for it to be cleared up in a day. OTC remedies did not work for me, but this magic tape did.
i hope you feel better soon!!

Does your school have a physician? I know my colleges did. Granted the doc only came once a week, but it was free and he was a real doc and wrote out prescriptions. Check it out. They might be able to give you samples too.
