Did anyone do that? We registered for a bedding collection (king size). Right now we have a queen bed but we really want to buy a king once we buy a house. We are hoping to buy the house soon after we get married.
Is that a bad idea? My biggest concern is that the fitted sheets fit up to 17 inch mattresses. Is that enough for a pillowtop mattress? FH thinks he may want a tempurpedic mattress or a pillowtop. Are tempurpedic mattresses flat? Would we have to get fitted sheets without the deep pockets?
FH and I registered for king size sheets before we got a king size bed. The day someone bought them, we bought the bed! We wound up with a pillow top, but the sheets still fit pretty well. Your comforter will cover if the sheets don't reach all the way down. It doesn't look that bad. Anyway, you can always buy different sheets!

Re: NWR- Buying bedding sets before the bed?
i got so frustrated with bedding for this reason
fh and i will be getting an apartment, and i think we're going to keep his mattress, but get a new bed..so we'll still have a double bed..although i want a king or a queen
however, we registered for a double size set

What pretty bedding!!! I don't think its a bad idea to get the sheets first. You know that one day you will be buying a king-size bed, so why not get the sheets! As far as the pillowtop mattress, we have one and its soooo deep. I didn't think mattresses were THIS big, this thing is enormous!!!! But our sheets don't fit and I think its kind of annoying, nothing that you absolutely can't live with, but still, I don't love it! So if you could find something deeper, maybe go for it. If not, its not the end of the world for the sheets to not perfectly fit on the bed.
