now you need an IO Digital Cable Box to watch some channels?
I am so angry!
I like to watch QVC (because the volume level is consistent) or E! before I go to bed and now I need a box to watch them.
Screw you Cablevision - I'm switching to DirectTV.

I watch animal planet and tlc in my bedroom a lot, and I don't have a box there either. Thank god they did not take away my HGTV. I am going to see if I can live without the box for a while and if I have to, get the damn box.
However, FH and I briefly discussed getting rid of cable to save some $$$. He didn't seem too keen on it and said I wouldn't be able to survive as I never watch network TV. But I am still considering it.
I will be in 'Jon and Kate Plus 8' withdrawal if we do this, however. Consider yourselves warned.

i've never had a problem with cablevision...luv my dv-r box. the io box is free, there is no additional charge for it you just have to go to a service center & swap your box, they also give you a free hi-def box if you want it.

I can't get Monsters hd anymore!!! If I weren't living with FMIL, I'd get rid of Cablevision in a heartbeat.

They took away all of the good night shows!
No more travel channel, E!, TLC, A&E for all of lovely bridal shows.
This stinks!

Now that they own Newsday, they feel like they can do whatever they want. I am seriously considering Verizon too.

No! It was real! We have an hd dvr box and it was my favorite channel. Now that and the kung fu channels don't work anymore.

Re: NWR: Cablevision - w t f?
I hate cablevision as well. At least twice a month I end up on the phone with them b/c my cable has gone out or has lost sound. When I get married and move out we are not using cablevision. What annoys me the most is EVERY SINGLE time I call I get that message 'due to a higher than expected call volume the wait may be longer than expected' How can they always have a higher than expected call volume? I have waiter on hold for them for over 20 minutes about half the times. It's ridiculous.

Re: NWR: Cablevision - w t f?
I just had this problem this week. Was on the phone with them until after 11 p.m . the other night. The 2 boxes they MAILED me were defective. Then I was told I could not return them via mail and I had to go to the service center. Went to the one in Freeport on my way home today and it was packed. At least every other person in that center had a box to switch out. Guess that tells you something!!!!
