NWR- Camera

FH is getting me a new camera for my b'day next month. I am starting to research some but so far the best one I found was Fujifilm12.2 mega pix camera.

Does anyone have any suggestions or would like to share what kind of camera that you have.

TIA

I was looking at those too- but I am not too sure how much FH wants to spend and the one I saw was 229.00

I work for Nikon... so I may be a little biased but go with either a Nikon coolpix or a Canon.

I have an exlim and it works really well..10.1 megapixils. i like it, but i like fh's better, i think he has a canon.

i had a nikon cool pix like 2 years ago and hated it. it broke all the time. such a bad experience. luckily i was able to take it to their headquaters which was in like melville or amityville or something like that and they fixed it quick.

i absolutely love my Sony Cybershot with touchscreen panel.

you honestly do NOT need a 12.2 MP camera unless you plan on printing poster size images!

depending on what you plan on using the camera for is going to depend on which model to go for. Mine is much better at taking close ups (you can literally take pics of hair and skin and see EVERYTHING but distance shots are not the best)

Re: NWR- Camera

definitely don't just make a decision based on the greatest amount of pixels. Anything 8 or over will be more than enough for printing up to 16x20. I personally love Canon cameras and am looking to get their new one that has HD video. You need to consider 1) what feels comfortable in your hand and the size 2) whether you prefer lithium ion or regular aa batteries 3) general layout, use (i.e. are things like is the button to switch from color to b&w and the button to turn on/off flash easy to get to?), 4) does it have image stabilization (IS) to help reduce hand shake 5) the modes it has and what you'd use, such as close-up macro and action shots

I was actually looking at the Fugi because it had great reviews and it was reasonably priced. I will definately look into all the cameras that you all recommended.
Thanks girls
