I am looking to purchase a new camera...but not a digital point and shoot; a digital slr

i was considering the canon eos digital series but not sure which one. also heard nikon had a similar one...anyone know about cameras or can give an recommendations??

I have the Nikon D3100. It is a digital SLR. I really like it.

ETA: I have no idea how it compares to other SLR cameras. FH bought it for me for Christmas.

2012er crashing... I got my FH the Cannon EOS Rebel T1i and he loves is and takes great pictures.,

I also know a few other people who have that and they really like it!

I'm a Nikon girl. I have the D80. Nikon and Canon both make excellent cameras, but they're a little different in how they handle. You should go to a store and see which feels best to you. To me, Nikons are the most intuitive.

Oh I am a canon girl all the way. Always have been and probably always will be.

What are you looking for out of your camera. I shoot with their higher end amateur camera 30D.

You probably can get away with a Rebel but it really depends on what you want out of it.

And the most important thing with cameras are the lenses.

im a canon girl now with my digial point and shoot so i wasnt sure if i should be faithful to canon or go to nikon for the digital slr
I am considering the 60d but wanted to see if anyone had any reviews
