NWR- Cardinali Bakery

I went to this bakery yesterday morning in Syosset. I was at a bbq in the Hamptons on Saturday so stayed the night at my aunts house in Oyster Bay and a co-worker of fh's recommended this bakery for a good cappucino and pastery.

let me say it was excellent...so authentic- when I walked in I felt like I was transported back to Sicily. the cappucino was excellent, strong but not bitter, and the cornetto, or chocolate croissant was perfect, with the italian chocolate. I also brought home a loaf of italian peasant bread...pannini for dinner tonight!

anyway, I am such a hog and I love food, and though I am a Brooklyn girl, sometimes LI surprises me with a place like this.

fh just told me it's only 10 mins away from one of his clients.....LOL

if you haven't been there and are in the area, I would definitely recommend it!

I grew up in East Norwich/Oyster Bay - - and always got our 'stuff' from Cardinali's. We actually went there minutes after FI proposed - so it's special for us too.

The ones in Huntington (one in the village and one in the station) are good - but not quite as good.....they're not owned by the same people anymore.
