NWR: Carnival vs. Royal Caribbean

I have never been on a cruise and to tell you the truth im petrified but FH would like to try it.. so im reseraching.. for those of you who have done a cruise before please tell me pros and cons.. Which company is better? What ?'s do i need answered before traveling. TIA

I went on a Carnival and RC and I think RC is ten times better! I love it!!

my HM will be the first time ever on a cruise so we went to a travel agent and she said Royal Caribbean all the way, so that is what we are going with.
we are also going out of Canaveral they offer transfers from the Orlando airport and back. the price the travel agent gave us was $70 each round trip

Ive been on 1 RC and 2 Carnival... Possibly another RC this April

That said, RC's food kicks asss ... Carnival's is just good to me, nothing more...

Also had better service on RC than on Carnival

But Carnival did have more of a party atmosphere than RC IMO And their bed are amazing! Def best sleep i have ever had... Fh & I would pass out as soon as our heads hit the pillow

Never been on RC but Carnival was awesome! We went in June and there werent too many kids. The service was great and the food was excellent. What ship are you considering?

Ive been on 6 cruises- most of which are norwegian and I have to say norwegian was not bad- Royal Caribbean was the best cruise line Ive taken- we even took them on our honeymoon and LOVED them!

I have only been on one cruise...carnival....the food wasn't really good...but we had fun! We also sailed out of new york...bad move...because we were on the ship for a few days...I would def go out of florida next time. We also spent a lot on the ship....between alcohol (which we only drank at night, and not large amounts), and excursions...and the slot machines. My FH wasn't into the one club on the ship. Royal Caribbean, without a doubt. I've been on Carnival once and will never go again, even if someone offered to pay for me. People say you can gain a few pounds on a cruise, I lost a few because other than dinner, which wasn't anything great either, I barely ate. I survived on pizza for the week.

RC's food, service, atmosphere, prices, activites and rooms are all really well-worth what you pay for. I would go back on RC anytime!

We went on our first cruise in August 2007 and it was Carnival. We enjoyed every minute of it. The food was great. FH enjoyed it as well except for the smoking (he has asthma). We had a room with a balcony and it was in the middle of the ship. It was one floor up from the casinos, shops, etc. We truly enjoyed ourselves.

I LOVE...LOVE.. Royal Carribean. I can't comment on Carnival because I have never been on a cruise with them but I have had NO complaints with RC.....GOOD LUCK!!!!

I been on both carnival and Royal Caribbean and i totally go with RC. They are the best. Everyone is soo much more happier on RC than Carnival. I would also check out Princess heard great stuff about them also.
