NWR: Carpenter Bees

NWR: Carpenter Bees

Did anyone know about carpenter bees? I was painting the ugly wood railings on our back porch white today. So I am sitting watching what I thought was a bumble bee when it burrowed into our wood rail making a perfectly round circle in the process. I was in shock. Apparently these are not bumble bees, but carpenter bees. They made holes all over our rails. Now I am worried about my wood deck and doors.

I HATE INSECTS!!!

Carpenter bees?? never heard of them! I do have carpenter ants which we have had the exterminater here taking care of. Those bastards found their way into the bathroom behind a wall and started going to town. When I came home from my HM, I found sawdust and dead bugs in my bathtub. Watch out for those suckers! All because the previous owner never fixed some loose tiles in the bathroom!

I hate carpenter bees!!!! They are so annoying. They are very curious and will fly right up in your face. They were at my last apt. and they use to freak me out but I was told only the females can sting and they usually don't leave the nest. They damage your wood by drilling holes into it to build a nest (my dad is an exterminator). You will probably have to call one to take care of them. HTH
