Ok....so my Mom recently adopted a new kitten, Bella, who is now 4 months old. She is seriously psycho cat - at least thats what I call her. Does anyone know how to condition a cat from jumping up on counters and the such? With my old cat (Stockings, 11/27/07 - RIP), we were able to use the whole spray bottle thing when he was a kitten. For Bella, on the other hand - this totally does not work. I actually thinks she enjoys being sprayed with water. Can anyone give me any advice on how to scole her for bad behavior other than a spray bottle? TIA!

we have 2 cats (FH's cats - Piggy and Seal), and they are the most misbehaving cats ever! nothing helps! I try anything and everything to make them not to go on the furniture, or to steal my food, and nothing helps. my advice is just to live with it LOL

i think your cat might be related to mine!! my cat is the most mischevious cat in the world, the pennies, the water bottle..nothing worked! She is still young so you have time

try canned air...the stuff you use for cleaning computers. spray it at her when she is doing something that she isn't supposed to be doing. i know it stops dogs from barking so maybe it works with overly playful (hehe so cute but at times inappropriate) kittens! hope this helps!

Re: NWR: Cats - Help!
I have 13 cats, so they are constantly knocking things over/walking where they shouldn't/ETC.ETC.ETC.
This may seem rather silly, but I've found that they try and walk across my laptop keyboard a LOT and if I give them a loud, firm NO (insert name of feline) they listen and go away.
Then again, this has taken some training and practice, so it might not work right away.

OMG, one of my cat's name is Seal tooo!! Ive never met anyone with a Seal too, lol.
Anyway, I agree with the noise thing, like a can of pennies but I got a tip once to make sure the cat doesnt actually see that you are controlling that noise or that might not listen.
You might want to try put towells soaked in alchohol or possibly vinegar on the counter, table etc. because most cats really hate this smell and it might train them to not go up there if they think they will always have to endure that. good luck!

Re: NWR: Cats - Help!
Thanks girls - I definitely will try them all....my family is desparate. The whol firm 'no' thing doesnt work. She just looks at us (and I swear she smirks) and does it again right in front of us (weather it be jumping on the counter, jumping in a tree we have in the house or leaping across the dining room table). Ugh.
