NWR- Cavitiy

I dont have any insurance..but I have a cavitity(had it for a while now) and I want to get it filled. On average, how much does it cost to get it filled?

The cost to fill a tooth with composite ranges anywhere from $150-$300(sometimes more) depending on size of filling needed and which tooth it is. Definitly try to get it done ASAP you dont want a simple cavaity turning into a root canal...not only is it painful its alot more costly

ooo that stinks, I'm sorry.

I don't know where you live, but you might want to consider calling the School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook University - you may qualify to be a patient there. They have a fully functioning clinic, they do great work, and the cost is generally less than a private practice.

you're very welcome - i had a friend with 8, yes 8 cavities and no insurance...they worked out a payment plan with her, and they were just so nice. AND there were no problems with the dental work AT ALL!

Oh M, I know how you feel. My wisdon teeth are going to be the death of me! And the insurance coverage I have considers it a 'pre-existing condition' so I have to wait forever to have them pulled...does no one understand that I feel like someone smashed me in the face with a baseball bat?

I hope you are able to get the work done!

You can get a dental card for 11 bucks...and find a participating dentist...you can get a discount! If you need one quick call 800-277-5011 Health and Life Direct...its called Protective Health Plans :)

You might think I am crazy but I used to work for them and it does afford you a pretty decent discount!

I think you could also go to NYU school of dentistry. I think they charge you under $100 to join for hte year and I think that includes a bunch of stuff like x-rays and cleanings and fillings. I'm not 100% sure on the cost to join or what it covers but you could look into it.
