I was having back pain last week and i went to a chiropractor. I was sore after the appt. but was told thats normal and then my lower back did feel better the next day, but ever since my upper back has been so sore like from my neck to my shoulder blade.
but i've never been to one prior to so i don;t know if what he is doing is what is common and then after the machine he then starts adjusting me and has me lie on my side and then puts pressure by using his weight and adjusting my back and neck like he kinda shifts my neck and it cracks. can i get damage like this i'm so paranoid. today though he shifted my neck it didnt crack but he said he felt it move so its fine but i;m so sore now more sore than before i even got there is this normal? sohlud i be worried?

Re: NWR: Chiropractor
I would monitor it, but not be worried. You will be sore, especially since you've never had it done before. But it shouldn't last for more than 2 days or so. If you're concerned, give the chiropractor a call.

Re: NWR: Chiropractor
Both of my uncles are chiropractors and I have been getting adjusted since i was about 18months old. When you lie on your side and they put pressure to crack your back and neck, that is normal. Sometimes I do feel sore after, if my back was hurting really bad before I went, but if it is sore for more than a day I would call.

Great advice.
Definitely don't be paranoid...just keep an eye on it.
I too have gone to Chiropractors for a llloooonnnnggg time. I find my current one to be the BEST I've gone to yet. Be carefully with the types of Chiropractors you go to. I find there are some around here that push you in and out and don't actually adjust what needs to be adjusted. If you're interested I can give you the name of my Chiropractor.

thanks guys i called him and he told me to come back he's keep the office open and wait for me. i feel little better now. he thinks i might have tensed up when he was adjusting my back and neck and it caused the muscle to strain which caused me pain.
