NWR-Christening Gift

NWR-Christening Gift

FH and I are attending one of FH's very good friend's son's Christening party this Sunday at Russo's on the Bay. Now, his friend is in our bridal part y and FH was in his a few years ago...they are very close friends of ours...

I have a dilemma as to how much to put in the card. We want to give a generous gift, but I just want to make sure that we're not going a little overboard...the party is at Russo's and I know that the place is pretty pricy. Now I also understand that this is not a wedding but a Christening party...so how much do you think we should give? Please see my poll...

i voted 150...from experience..i had a disagreement with fh a while back regarding a big christening that we were invited to....he felt because they were having it in a large catering hall that we had to cover our plates.. i disagreed, because i felt if people chose to spend a lot of money for a christening that was their choice..it's not a wedding...

in the end we settled on 150... and got a savings bond for 300.

i know you are close, but i still think 75 a person for a christening is very generous.

good luck.

I always believed, you give what you can afford. Thats has always been my motto.

I voted $150 b/c there was not a cheaper option. I say $100 for any friend's kid....and more if it's neice or nephew or something. Things have gotten so out of hand lately - $300 for a christening gift is the most absurd thing I've ever heard...do people really give that much

Whoa! My FH would definitely agree with you LOL...I just wanted to see what your opinions were...Im leaning towards a $200 savings bond...

ETA: Just checked...they only offer $50, $100, $200, etc saving bonds.
