NWR: Christening Gift

What is a proper money amount for a christening gift. My cousin's baby is getting christened this week. I am extrememly close to my cousin. Any suggestions on how much money to give or any other type of christening gift?

For my Godson (my nephew) I did a $250 bond. See what you can afford but a bond is always good for a christening. Or if you think the family could use it, nowadays I have seen Babies R Us gift cards and similar gifts made to help out the family. HTH

Hmmm, I say the same you spend on a wedding. The money is used to start a savings account for the little one.

We did $150 for our new Niece. When the baby was born we spent $200 on new clothes. Plus they know we are getting married and saving money for the wedding.

a savings bond. I have a huge (HUGE) family so I can only really afford 50-100 depending on how close I am to the relative. But I would say a 100 dollar savings bond is decent. And maybe a keepsake, like a willow tree statue. (i love those)

Savings bond is the way to go. My best friend/MOH had her baby last year and I gave a $200 savings bond for her son.
