My best friends daughters christening is next weekend and I am clueless as to what to get her. I want it to be something special because the lil munchkin is like a niece to me...HELP!!! I'm usually really good at this stuff, but I think I'm over thinking the gift because I want it to be something good!

Re: NWR: Christening Gift?
Find out if the Godmother is buying her Cross. If not, you can do that. You can also do a Bond which she can cash at 18 to buy her first car! She will think you are the best. Also, you can buy her something beautiful from Tiffanys. Any Jewlery is appropriate. They have specialized baby jewelery. As you can see, I have done this before. lol. If you need additional advice about it FM me.

Re: NWR: Christening Gift?
For my baby cousins' 1st birthdays, I got each one a personalized storybook about the day they were born. The oldest one is now 5 and he still asks his mom to read it to him. You do need some info though (like what the doctor's name is and what hospital they were born in...height, weight, hour they were born, etc.). It's only 20 dollars, but you could get something in addition to it. FM me for website if ur interested.
I think most people give savings bonds or money for christening...no matter how close they are. I would ask about the cross, though...that's def. a great idea...or offer to buy the christening gown.

I usually just give cash- it makes things so much easier. Plus, the kid appreciates it when they are older.

Re: NWR: Christening Gift?
Usually the Godparents purchase the dress & the cross i would buy her the first set of diamond earrings for when she gets her ears pierced. OR the name plate braclet and of course cash.

I think it would take a few weeks to get it but a blanket with her picture on it from wovenmoment.com

Re: NWR: Christening Gift?
I'm horrible at Christening gifts....I usually give monetary gifts. Sometimes the church rectory sells nice rosaries or childrens' bible.
