NWR - Co-op drama

NWR - Co-op drama

NEVER buy anything ever! That is how I feel today. This whole buying property process has got me so stressed out and sick. I am ready to leave work, crawl into bed, and never come out.

First the mortgage company says the closing will take 3 weeks, then we're told 90-100 days! Little bit of a difference, no? Then, we're told 30-40 days! You never get a straight answer!

But, today's drama is the building's financials. Apparently, they only sent over the 2007 financials, because the 2008 financials are not done. And our lawyer said that they don't look good. Now, we have to wait until our lawyer looks over the monthly statements of the 2008 financials, and we speak to the seller again! This is madness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please send prayers and good vibes my way.

I know exactly how you feel. We went through hell to get our home....and I always felt that it should be an exciting time but FH & I were always stressed. So definitely hang in there. Its well worth the wait!

and just to add....never believe the mortgage companies, we were told that our 60 day close was so long, well i got my mortgage on day 60, the morning of the close, they kept telling me 'o we can have your mortgage in 1 week' yeah right!!!

Re: NWR - Co-op drama

Firstly, I feel your pain.
I bought my place by myself with NO help from ANYONE and let me tell you, it was the first time I felt like an adult.

This is normal. I had to call board for updated financials. Hound them. Don't leave it to your lawyer or ANYONE!.
I also did 70% of the work of the mortgage company and looking back, I could of dealt straight with the bank and wished I did (next time). They said they couldn't get some insurance papers from the board so you know what I DID? I called the insurance company that day and got it faxed to me. They coulda did the same but did not WANT too!

This is all a learning lesson. It will cause you GREAT stress but WORTH it in end. I had a lot of things go wrong the NIGHT before closing only because my lawyer caused and UNEEDED alarm.

Re: NWR - Co-op drama

Thanks for all of the support girls. Unfortunately, the fiscal year runs differently depending on the company. For example my job runs July to June. So, it depends.

This is HUGELY stressful. Much more than it needs to be. Right now, our biggest concern is the building's financials. We're having them looked at by our lawyer (at least the 2007 and monthly 2008s) and a tax attorney / accountant.

I NEVER imagined it would be this high amount of stress. I'd plan 10 weddings before I'd ever want to do this again!
