NWR: Co-worker Vent!

I started a new job about 4 months ago, I was informed before hand that some of the girls were very petty and childish at times. Well lastnight we go to happy hour with most of our office and a bunch of brokers and one of the girls was being a total witch to me! (mind you she's usually petty in the office) She kept cutting me off and pushing me out of the way. Finally I said something to her and she turned it around to be all my fault! Now it seems as though everyone else that I never had a problem with that are in her little group are giving me an attitude.

I can so relate to this. My office outside of my department can be like this alot of time. But you know what kill them w/ kindness. B/c when you stupe to their level you become just as bad.
People need to learn to act their age not their shoe size

To many girls going out always works out that 1 person is the bad one. Very Childish!! Why cant we all just get along! Sorry you had a bad night. It should pass with time.

time to thank god i work with all men!!!!!! men don't do this kind of stuff, it's amazing! i'm SO sorry you are going through this. i would give it some time, just kill the ones that you like with kindness and the ones that are not out right mean to you with kindness--be really nice and totally yourself and don't care-- try so hard not to let everything bother you!! and eventually, most of them will realize that you are always nice and she is negative and petty-- and you will look like the bigger and better person.
if it gets to the point where she is really disrespecting you i would speak to a supervisor about it if it gets bad or try and politely but firmly and professionally stick up for yourself.

i'm sorry again, i hope it gets better!!!!

yes!! me too-- i'm all about women's power but at the same time: i thank GOD i work with men and love how i work with all men!! LOL it's terrible, i wish girls would just be nicer to each other, it must be a jealousy thing-- who knows!

OMG look at this childish e-mail I got from her:

Ok I have to say I’m getting a little sick of hearing that we got into a fight last night… too many different stories and as far as I can remember none of them are true.

You came up to me and asked me why I didn’t like you… I responded its not that I don’t like you I just don’t know you well enough to be nice and we don’t get much time to know each other being that we are on different floors. I really don’t see what the problem with that answer was.But you had problems with it. Honestly I really don’t appreciate the conversations I have heard you were having behind my back. Please if you have a problem talk to me. I didn’t think we left off in a fight, and I’m sorry if you got the wrong impression, BUT please stop acting childish the world isn't about you.

So I wrote back:
I never said we had a fight, nor have I heard anyone talking about this today. It's funny how things get misconstrued, as the conversation was between you and I and not everyone else. I thought your answer was fine, you aren't a warm friendly person I get it, I was glad it was nothing personal with me as I have been feeling since I started here.
I then after got you a drink and asked if you were okay to drive, if we got into a fight why would I be concerned of how you were when you were leaving?
I did not feel as though we got into a fight either, I have not spoken to anyone about it all day, but I have been getting an atittude from your 'friends' so I would check with them to see where they got there information.

I know! Yesterday I told her I thought she had a problem with me and it turns into this! I really want ot tell her sh'es an immature petty B****, she's talking about me to the whole office and I am posting on here. Right off the bat it makes her look psycho which is think it great!!
