I need to start looking for a place where we're gonna live. i would love to keep the commute to just 1 hr each way on the Railroad into city.
what are safe towns in nassau that have convenient express train service?
thanks guys!

Re: NWR - commuting question
Anywhere from the Nassau suffolk border to NYC would be an hour or less.
Do you prefer north shore or south?
Express trains from Hicksville and Great Neck I think are the best.

also check along the Babylon line, like Merrick, Bellmore, Wantagh areas...the trains run pretty frequently and there are often express trains

Re: NWR - commuting question
Any line in Nassau is an hour or less to the city. Once you take a line into Suffolk that is when it will be more than 1 hour.

I have lived all along the south shore and it is very nice.
If you go to craigslist and click on LI then click on the apartment search then all you have to do is type in specific towns and any listings in that town will come up.

Re: NWR - commuting question
I live in Lindenhusrt and the peak train is 55 mins. the trains run almost every 15-20 mins during peak. off peak the time is anywhere form 1 hr 7 min to 1 hr 15 mins. If you live near the babylon station you can get express trains that run right in and are quick
