Hey girls - Anyone been to a concert at Jones Beach recently?
I'm going to Dixie Chicks Wednesday (yay!) and I was wondering if anyone knew if they have any policies against tailgating in the parking lot......
Also, anyone have a general idea of what time the main act usually goes on? How long does the opening act take?

They're definitely OK with tailgating.... (I was at the Jimmy Buffet concert) They had full beer pong in the parking lot, individual bands set up, a hot tub....yep, thats right, someone unloaded a hot tub!! it was ridiculous!! You'd be fine tailgating....to be safe, I would drink out of a solo cut if you're nervous...but I think you'll be fine!! Have a good time!!

We were at the Buffett concert too!! We started tailgating at 10 a.m. (took a long time to set up our tiki bar!) To be safe, drink your beverages out of plastic cups---have fun!!!!!

Another Buffett person here! Love their tailgates. However, tomorrow is going to be like 101 degrees, I would not tailgate in that heat!
I'm seeing the Dixie Chicks tonight at the Garden!!!!!!!!! I can't wait

I alwyas use the red solo cups but noone seems to get in trouble using beer bottles

I was outside in the heat today and it was stifling (sp?) but I think we'll just make sure our beers are extra icy cold.

Boy, I didn't know the Dixie Chicks were playing Jones Beach. Bummer, I would have tried to go (although my wedding is this Saturday, it would have been hectic). And we tried to get tickets to Buffett but of course, the sold out in a nanosecond!!

I hear it's because of the heat, but I'm still sad! No word on when it's postponed til.

AWW, that stinks, but just think how hot and seaty it would have been. Gross! They will reschedule to a better night!!
