NWR- CPA EXAM????

Anyone have any tips on how to pass the CPA exam?

I have already passed it but DH is now studying for his last 2 parts, and even though he is super smart, he hates tests, and finds it very hard to study for them, because I think he gets overwhelmed by the incredibly large amount of information you can be tested on .

He is currently taking classes with Becker, I suggested also getting a tutor but he doesn’t think he needs it.

TIA

Re: NWR- CPA EXAM????

I took the test before it was computerized, but I found the best way to study was just to take tons of practice exams. I'm not a good studier, and prefer the cram method. From what I remember a lot of the questions on the test were similar, if not the same, questions from the practice exams.

I also passed before the computer exam. i would say do lots and lots of practice questions. Also review why answers are right and wrong. This will give additional information. I found it helpful to write down things as I read them as well.

Good Luck

I used to re-write my notes over and over, just so that the info would somehow just become second nature.

I too passed it before it became computerized. Its crazy now, I hear that it is evn harder now, because you can’t go back and forward in the exam.

Re: NWR- CPA EXAM????

I passed my last part in December..personally I think that taking the CD ROM course is more helpful than the classes..the only thing is that you have to be diligent about it. There is no way to remember everything, I think Becker stresses which parts to focus on and which parts not to spend so much time on. But I agree that taking practicing the questions over and over does also help. Many of the Becker questions reappear on the exams...

The simulations are also a big part of it. Its really the luck of the draw which ones you wind up getting, sometimes they're pretty obscure. I dunno if its still the case, but you can use the research tab during the simulations..hope that helps..
