Re: NWR: Credit Card Debt
my CC debt isn't too bad, i paid some off last year and now i probably owe about $2k or less
Dh's debt was pretty high, but he still has very good credit bc although he has had alot of cc's and owes alot, he has never had 1 late payment. But a few months ago he paid off all his credit card debt. And ill just say that it was alot higher than even the highest amount on your poll lol
you can get someone to help you with this, transfer balances from one card to another, if you have a card with a high interest rate transfer it to one with a low interest rate. Find ways to try and get rid of it. But no matter what still try to pay all of them on time so this way your credit score doesn't go down

Re: NWR: Credit Card Debt
oh also forgot to mention that i dont have any CC's now either. ANy CC debt i have was from CC's i had many years ago, and some i had forgotten about. It s*cks bc the debt i am in now i didnt know until last year. They were sending the bills to my old address and when they finally called me about it and i told them i didnt know, the lady gave me an attitude saying they've been mailing me the bill and said 'youre address is X' and i said NOOOOO its not
I realized CC's are evil and got rid of all of them a long time ago and havent applied for new ones. The only cards i still have are bloomingdales and macy's and i try not to use those often either.

Re: NWR: Credit Card Debt
I transfered my balances to a 0% interest that will be up in January. That's ok because I will have paid it all off. After that I'm closing the accounts except for one. I have excellent credit but so many open accounts that are non active status Just makes me scared with ID theft.

Re: NWR: Credit Card Debt
DH and I don't have credit card debt - we pay off our balance every month. It's amazing how high some of the monthly fees can be -- they really rip you off.
I do have a handful of store credit cards which I know isn't the greatest for your credit score -- I've signed up for them over the years to get discounts off of large purchases. I put everything on my citicard though because you get a % back off of all of your purchases.

Re: NWR: Credit Card Debt
Seriously.. cc were the WORST invention! I really regret ever getting them and now FH is an authorized user on mine so his purchases + mine = A LOT OF MONEY! Hopefully our wedding gifts will help us pay some of this burden off!

I'm so envious.. I wish we could do that! Unfortunately our cash has to go towards our mortgage, house expenses, and wedding stuff! Once we pay these off, I'm closing them all and just paying cash for everything...

Re: NWR: Credit Card Debt
We just got a house & FH credit rating was 810 & I think the mortgage broker was going to fall off his chair. LOL He said, very few people ever have that high. I have about $3000- from wedding stuff. I will pay off soon......not worried.

Meanwhile before I came into the picture, FH credit score s*cked and now he is bringing it up yet he has waaaayyyy less debt than I do. Poor guy is marrying into debt. Guess he must really love me thank god or else I would still be single and in a lot of debt!
