ladies I need to start getting my resume out there..
For those of you who are teachers, how do you recommend I go about doing this?
I will be certified to teach grades 1-6... I've already checked on OLAS and have applied to everything I possibly could.
Any other pointers would be greatly appreciated.
THANK YOU!

Re: NWR: crunch time - TEACHERS
Go to the schools that you are interested in working in and personally drop off your resume...Its helps to know the name of the person who is the AP or the person in charge of hiring...I did this and I got quite a few callbacks

I agree...drop it off in person. I got my first job teaching as a sub (in Jericho) after dropping it off in person. Substitute teaching was a great way to get me into the system. It looked great on my resume and I now work in another great school district.

I hear you! I'm planning on getting the resumes out there ASAP... I'm subbing right now (Connetquot) but I really need a full time position Hopefully, next time this year I'll be complaining b/c I don't have enough time to plan my wedding b/c of my 'ful time' teaching position!!! Good Luck to you though (I heard Longwood is going to have something like 15 Maternity leave positions in September)

Re: NWR: crunch time - TEACHERS
I've been applying to all private schools bc I'm still in the process of getting certified so public is harder for me, but I'm subbing right now and sending my resume to as many schools as I can, I drop them off, mail them etc.
Also, it's a good idea to network, try to spread the word to as many people as you can, word of mouth helps as well!!!
Good Luck!

Mail them and drop them off in person anywhere you'd like to teach.
