He saw his shadow this morning....so that means 6 more weeks of winter!!

And it's supposed to get cold next week!!

as long as is nice for our april weddings even though your later in the month

Staten Island Groundhog Predicts Speedy Arrival Of Spring

It’s Groundhog Day in the Northeast, but groundhogs in Pennsylvania and New York had conflicting predictions.

Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow Thursday morning, which according to the legend means there's six more weeks of winter.

But on Staten Island, a 10-pound rookie groundhog named Chuck came out of his hutch with the assistance of Senator Chuck Schumer and did not see his shadow, meaning spring is coming early this year.

“This is his premiere. He did really, really well,” said Chuck’s trainer Douglas Schwartz. “You have an exceptionally happy groundhog and he said spring is coming, so I mean, you can see just by looking at him he's obviously dead-on in his game. He's a good boy.'

Chuck is actually the sixth Chuck. He's in his first year on the job after the retirement of the 20-year veteran.

The Staten Island Zoo say the Chucks have an 86 percent accuracy rate.

Is a hedgehog the same thing as a groundhog??
