Re: NWR- decorating help

i would personally do either a red accent wall or like a deep blue maybe?

i do think green might look a bit christmas-y...hmm this is a tough one with the red accent pieces. yeah i think deep blue or red.

I like red accent walls...like a dark, deep red, or cranberry. Looks so nice in my mom's house and she has black furniture...the other walls are beige though not white..

what about adding some texture? they have cool squares...kinda of like wallpaper...that you can put on the wall. make it look like metal...or the faux brick

idk. just throwin crazy ideas out there

bbb has some wallpaper now too...might be too much for a whole room, but an accent wall would be cool!

i think a red accent wall would be awesome! then you can always bring in yellows, orange, beige in other things too!

i agree the red and green thing = too christmasy!

What about a medium taupe or even a dark purple? We recently did out accent wall taupe with light ivory walls and it looks really nice!

cousin had a red accent wall in her home with black furniture and a dark dark wood dining room set. It looked really nice together.

I like the green. Depends what green you do. It wont look Christmasy if you pick the right colors. I am super partial to red though. Our bathroom is red (sangria) with black and grey tiles. It looks really cool. In my old apt I did yellowish walls with a red/rust colored accent wall and it looked awesome too. If you wanna see my bathroom red feel free to come over. Or go to the Clearview tool/home shop on Franny Lew and bring home all the free booklets of the Benjamin Moore paints. They give you ideas of diff color combinations. Thats what we did.

Re: NWR- decorating help

We just repainted our living room a deep red. It looks awesome.

I wish I had a pic of my aunt's dining room. It starts out a bright orange towards the floor and progressively gets lighter as it goes higher until it's a cream color. It looks amazing, I'm probably not describing it right.

And I know what you mean about the blue being 'country home' but you don't have to do a powdery kinda blue. What about a deep navy or a bright blue?

paint virtual room

Try this link, it helped FH and I pick alot of our colors.

We have dark furniture in our bedroom and went with two diff greens, one light for 3 of the walls and one sage for the accent wall and it came out really nice!

And if it's not a 'christmas green' I don't think it would look christmasy at all.

Re: NWR- decorating help

my first thought was a mocha color, but with the red accents that's probably a no-go. how about a deep, darker, warm yellow/gold color?
