I am so bad with this. . . I was thinking Brown - but that may look groovylicious??

DO IT....my FH's dad's a painter..he does light/dark all of the time., it looks GREAT!

I painted one wall a lighter color in my Living room., and the trim darker. It looked really sharp

Re: NWR: Decorating Question

Do you not want to do white? If it's a small area, I wouldn't go darker....it will close it in.

I say doing it in a light color will keep it light and airy.

I love that color, btw.

thanks! well the regular trim we are definitely doing easter lily which is an off white - we thought for a contrast color we would go darker. . .i have no idea what i am doing by the way LOL i am trying to rebel against my upbringing - every wall in my house is a variation of off white! lol now i understand why - it is so much easier!

ok this is a pic of the stairs - the white parts are going to be yellow. I am asking now about the parts that are currently brown. THANKS!

Re: NWR: Decorating Question

Well FMIL has the same colors...Dark wood and Yellow (the color you posted) It looks really really good..

It may seem horrible if you imagine it but because I've seen it already I know I wouldl like it.

White may have it look to Pastel-ish.

Oooh - I like visual aids!

What about something like this...?

I think the brown on the stairs is too dark for that yellow....

What about more of a sand-ish color?

When you pick your colors, go to Benjamin moore..they have rooms that you can decorate to see if the colors will look good. I think its called Dress your room. I used it! I like the sandish color!

i think the brown would go great...you should have contrast and not do just all light colors or all dark colors...and brown is a great color to compliment the one you picked
