anyone ever do these? my sister requested for me to put notes in her baby shower invites about people bringing diapers to build a diaper tower. i always thought a diaper tower was something one or two guests build together and bring to the shower. i think its tacky to ask guests to bring diapers in addition to the registry cards we are already putting in the invite.

I have made quite a few diaper cakes, but never a diaper tower... are they the same thing? (I have always made the cakes with one or two of us pitching in and bringing it as a gift...)

I have heard of this, but never where the guests bring diapers and assembled at the shower. Maybe she is mistaken?

I made a diaper CAKE for my sister's baby shower and it was soooo easy!! I've always heard that is was supposed to be a special gift from a family member or close friend. (or from the person that throws the shower for her) I made one big 'cake' then I also made smallere 'cake' centerpieces for each of the tables, out of diapers too!! Here's some pics!! (sorry the centerpiece one is so small!) FM me if you want more info on how I did them!
ok ladies!! thanks for ur help. i'm just going to make her a diaper cake myself and have our (mine and my sister's) best friend help me with the cost of it and putting it together. this way my sister will still diapers w/o looking tacky.

maybe instead of a wishing well gift she would like people to bring diapers instead. I've heard of this idea and I like it a lot....you ask your guests to bring a package of diapers (any size) to the shower and they will be entered into a drawing for a surprise gift. The gift can be a gift basket or a gift certificate to nice restaurant or something. But I've never heard of a diaper tower. HTH

Have fun with the cake. Everyone of my friends and family know I make the cakes, real ones, diaper ones and towel ones! Have fun with it, the trick I use is to wrap things in the rings of diapers like onsies, washcloths, blankets, towels and then decorate with duckies, binkys, and everything else that doesn't lay flat have fun!
