So I started Weight Watchers this week. I have been hardcore. I went out last night to the city w/ a friend from college. We went to Opal on 52nd for somenes birthday. I drank a vodka and pineapple and 2 glasses of champagne! I was practically on the foor after that. The part that bites is that I had 1/2 a slice of pizza after!!
All my good dieting sense out the window after a cockail. :(
I dont want to sabotage myself.
do you find it difficut to diet and go out to social events like that??
Any advice?

Re: NWR: Dieting issues..
I don't see why you should knock yourself for dining w/ friends...that will happen often. I can only suggest to you, if you maintain a balanced diet and exercise regularly and go out w/ friends and eat once a month at a good restaurant. Then you shouldn't worry about the pounds. You'll be fine. Eat and have a good time, just don't make a habit of it! That's what I do....

don't forget, if you're doing the points (not sure if it's core or flex) you get 35 extra points to use each week, on top of your 20 points for the day. I'm not really strict with it - sometimes I use them all, sometimes I don't - but I only use the extra 35 when we go out to dinner, have drinks, etc (or if I just want a slice of pizza! ) and I've lost 9 pounds in the last two weeks.

I am not on WW but i know alot of girls on here are and i seem them post alot about this...Don't they have flexible points especially for things like this, for example someone who normally has 20 points i saw their flexible points was 35.
Also like someone else mentioned, if you eat healthy and exercise about 6 days a week and most of them time you are strict with your diet then I wouldn't worry about one night it won't effect you.

just relax - one off-diet night does not mean that you need to 'start over.'
Just keep going and don't do it too often, and you'll be fine!
Losing weight isn't about never eating the things you want or going over your calorie limit - it's about consistently and carefully eating well and exercising properly.

Re: NWR: Dieting issues..
I find it way difficult to stick to my diet during social events! I alway wind up cheating but the next day or two I try to eat less carbs or cut down on the snacks to make up for the extras I ate that day.

I just started last week too! I think its going to take some time adjusting to everything in points but with the additional 35 points per week you're probably okay. Its nice that they have that cushion. I was home at my mom's this weekend and she made a homecooked meal. I just tried to eat proper portions and only had one glass of wine....

i never allow myself the extra 35 points--that's why i get into trouble. So far I've had roasted veggies and chicken today and water so now i fell better about last night's damage. :) i'm going to nysc soon too. thanks. you guys are always soooooooo supportive ;)

I agree with previous posters....don't throw in the towel b/c of a night out. And as a fellow weightwatcher (lifetimer who's a few lbs up from goal), I can tell you that you can socially drink and lose weight. Just plan for it. Save WPA's (aka flex points) for those nights out. And kudos for having half a slice of pizza....that in itself is an accomplishment! You didn't go overboard at all.

Re: NWR: Dieting issues..
I am a party girl. We have a house party every friday and go tto the bar every Saturday. I have found how to make WW work for me.
I switched from drinking screwdrivers to drinking sprite zero and rasberry vodka (2 point) but after a while I was sick of all of the soda so now I order a glass of water and then a shot of rasberry vodka (2points).
The best thing is that because for each drink, I drink a full glass of water, I don't want/crave the snacks that you feel are cheating. AND the next day I don't have a hang over because of the water. Win win and I dont go over my points.
Good luck!!
