NWR- digital camera question

please excuse my complete ignorance about technology but I have a digital camera and I wanted to ask for a memory card & some kind of power source (rechargeable batteries etc) for XMAS. I'm so confused about what I need!
If I get a memory card, and have no docking station, do I need a memory card reader also? Normally I just use a USB cable to upload my pics ito my PC's hardrive.
Also, not sure which is best..rechargeable batteries, AC adaptor, or docking station or do I need more than one of these for the others to work?
help! I am (OBVIOUSLY) so confused!

it really depends on what type/brand of camera you have!!

You should go to the manufacturers web site and see what accessories you can get for the camera. The website should explain what each item does and you can decide what you would like!

I did but I'm still confused
I mean, they have memory cards listed but also memory card readers..I'm just not clear on how memory cards work I guess. I know it goes into my camera but is it possible to upload info from a memory card without using a memory card reader?
They have all the things I mentioned..rechargeable batteries, etc. too..I'm just not clear on what the benefits/negatives are for each option.
I told ya I am technologically challenged!

There is a cable that connects from your camera to the computer. It reads the memory card from there. A memory card reader is if you want to take the card out of the camera and transfer pictures from Just that card instead of hooking up the camera to the computer. If you have a newer computer or a newer printer many of them have the memory card slots right on them. In my oinion there isnt really a need for the reader.

Re: NWR- digital camera question

thanks! I think I'm clear on the memory card thing now
I currently use regular batteries, just wondering if it makes sense to get rechargeable ones in the long run.
My camera is an HP photosmart..very simple..will probably upgrade in a year or two anyways.
