NWR: Do you think this is a wierd gift to give to someone that you met once?

We are seeing FH's family today for the holidays. Since we are on a budget with the wedding, the adults are getting smalll gifts.FH's cousins' on/off 20yr old girlfriend will be there. We only met her once. I have a small box of candy for her. I also want to include a little something extra. I bought a couple of pairs of those soft comfy thick fleece socks that you wear like slippers. I was wondering if you that would be appropriate to give to someone that we just met once? (If not, she's just getting the candy, I'm not heading out to any stores today).

i think its fine too ... i saw them in Kohls and i wanted to buy them for myself .. so def good idea ..

I dont think that's a bad gift at all...I think it's appropriate.

I agree... You only met her once like you stated so the fact that you are getting anything is thoughtful and nice... I was ENGAGED to Vinny (last X-mas) for over six months at the time and his Aunt got me a puppy calendar... like, his CLOSE Aunt that I see all the time and we were engaged. I thought to myself- OK, if they are just not big on spending then that's one thing-- but she got Vinny a big gift certificate to Brooks Brothers

IDK, the little calendar seemed more like a gift for someone you met once or twice that was just a girlfriend- or on again/off again... lol funny

I think that is perfectly fine, and the fact that you only met her once but still bought her something. She'll probably be surprised that you even bought her a gift and will really appreciate it. It's very thoughtful of you
